Driven hunt is a traditional hunting type where some people are driving game to the hunters. Simply put, beaters are ‘pushing’ the hunted animals to the second half of the group: the shooters. Shooters are typically aligned in the forrest, awaiting for pheasants, partridges or ducks to fly over their heads. The beginning of a driven hunt is often signaled by a horn sound and is concluded by three successive horn sounds. During or after the hunt, dog owners are picking up fallen birds and bringing all game back to the shooters. A typical driven hunt day will include 4 to 8 drives, and can be accomodated for both small game (wingshooting) or big game. Hunting days are concluded with a ritual ceremony to pay tribute to the animals.
